Island Bocce -

From The Joy of Bocce Newsletter:
This guy is stranded on a desert island, all alone for ten years.
One day, he sees a speck in the horizon.

He thinks to himself, "It's not a ship."

The speck gets a little closer and he thinks, "It's not a boat."

The speck gets even closer and he thinks, "It's not a raft."

He makes it to a flat hard sandy beach and then, out of the surf comes this gorgeous woman, wearing a wet suit and scuba gear.

She comes up to the guy and says, "How long has it been since you've had a cigarette?"

"Ten years!" he says.

She reaches over and unzips a waterproof pocket on her left sleeve and pulls out a pack of fresh cigarettes.
He takes one, lights it, takes a long drag, and says, "Man, oh man! Is that good!"

Then she asked, "How long has it been since you've had a drink of whiskey?" He replies, "Ten years!"

She reaches over, unzips her waterproof pocket on her right sleeve, pulls out a flask and gives it to him.
He takes a long swig and says, "Wow, that's fantastic!"

Then she starts unzipping this long zipper that runs down the front of her wet suit and she says to him,

"And how long has it been since you've had some REAL fun?"

And the man replies, "My God! Don't tell me that you've got a set of bocce balls in there!"

Southernmost Bocce League Announces New Season!

Spring Season 2011
A Masterpiece in the making!

Plenty of compliments could be heard during the opening ceremony of the refurbished bocce courts on White Street.
This picture shows how a Sunday afternoon was spent in preparation to install Colleen's Mosaic on the courts before the official opening.

Now in the second week of the Spring Season I am still trying to get info from each night captain to be able to post the scores each night yet there hasn't been much activity. This should soon though change.

Still looking forward to our first game since last week's Thursday's games had to be postponed due to the heavy rain. Check back soon as I will be posting updates frequently.

Bocce Prom Reminder

Guess this quick reminder isn't quite necessary, but here it is anyway just to remind you of the Bocce Gazette.

This weekend marks the last event of the "Southernmost Bocce League" Fall Season with their Trophy presentation and party what became known as the Bocce Prom.
The League invites you to Saturday's event which is hosted for the second time at Kelly McGillis' Caribbean Bar and Grill. Members can enjoy the party FREE, but a guest has to dish out $10.- to take part and grab the specials prepared for the league.
Have a great time and take lots of pics which you can send to me to post on the Bocce Gazette.
